Match Report - 31 Oct 2011, Baldock Crusaders Netball Club Baldock Crusaders Blaze beat Jewels Onyx
This was another great win for the Baldock Reds.
Harriet and Julia were really gelling, making the Jewels defence work very hard.
Caroline had to dig deep against a fierce WA and Nat at Centre, supported the attackers really well with some fantastic passing!
In defence, Jane, Becky and Sharon were keeping a tight lid on things. They made Jewels work hard for their goals. After a shaky 5 minutes, Baldock dominated and won the first quarter.
From then on Baldock kept control in what was a hard fought game by both sides. Becky was getting some lovely interceptions when in the last quarter the Baldock curse struck! Becky went down hard on the side of her ankle. She was in agony and this could see her out for a couple of months. Really sad new for the team.
Caroline switched in at GD and held her own as the crusaders managed to hang on.
Julia was solid in the circle and her accurate shooting and great takes over head really contributed to this win.
Our umpires now award player of the match. This was given to Julia. Well done :)
