Final Score Baldock 2-0 The Waders
After a bit of uncertainty of the number of players Baldock had for the game due to team illness, we won the toss and had the advantage of the first centre. Baldock played a very strong first half, setting a decent lead for both of the quarters. The attacking team worked extremely hard to ensure the shooters were able to gain control over the ball and score a number of goals. However, Baldock became complacent and The Waders were able to catch up in both the first and second quarters, resulting in a draw.
After a quick switch of a couple of positions and an encouraging team talk, Baldock came back into the second half fighting. Defence played to their strengths by ensuring The Waders felt the pressure and had minimal passing options. Quick reactions and our ever-increasing knowledge of the game meant defence were able to secure a number of interceptions and turnovers. Attack continued this by ensuring the ball was carried down the court to the shooters who secured a number of incredible shots! Attack were strong in the goal third, meaning the shooters were able to work the ball until they reached a comfortable position to shoot from. However, their long shots were extremely impressive as the majority of them were successful! Baldock continued to fight and encourage each other along with the sideline supporters, leading to victory! The match reflected the recent progression of each individual player, resulting in an improvement to the game play and the strongest match yet!
Thank you to Eleanor, our guest player, for volunteering to play last minute and putting on a fantastic performance. Thank you to Tricky, Conor and Tom for supporting the team this week. The support from the sideline continued to encourage Baldock throughout the game! A great end to 2017 for Baldock Blacks!
