Baldock Crusaders Black VS The Waders Final score 20-21
Baldock Blacks took the first centre and worked the ball down the court for an immediate first shot. The Waders took the next centre but lost the ball to a skillfull interception by Baldock Blacks, resulting in another shot for Blacks. The next centre saw Baldock Blacks secure another goal, meaning the team had a strong start and lead. However, as The Waders started to score goals, the pressure started to build and affect Baldock Blacks as simple mistakes were made. Although the score was level throughout the first quarter, The Waders managed to score more, helping them to secure a lead in the first quarter.
During the second and third quarter, Baldock Black improved on the simple mistakes and began to improve their play. Defence worked very hard to intercept The Waders passes and catch their rebounds. Attack worked the ball in the goal third to support the shooters who secured enough shots to put Baldock Blacks in the lead into the fourth quarter.
The pressure was felt by both teams as Baldock Blacks and The Waders fought extremely hard to intercept passes and score. The pressure was all too much for Baldock Blacks as passes became sloppy and rushed. Silly mistakes meant The Waders had the opportunity to score 2 more shots than Baldock Blacks. In the last minute, Baldock Blacks tidied their play and scored their final shot in the last minute of the game. Unfortunately it wasn’t quite enough as The Waders won the game by 1 goal.
The game proved to be one of Baldock Blacks strongest games to date, with a clear improvement from each team member. The fitness of the team still requires progression as the intensity of the teams play lacks in the final quarter of our games. However, this game proved that the teams netball ability has improved.
