Baldock Juniors take on Royston - Round 2

21 Nov 2013

The Baldock Crusaders Juniors went over to a wet and windy Greneway School in Royston on Wednesday 20th November to take on the year 6 and 7 Royston Junior team. The Baldock squad consisted of Brooke, Esme, Sofia, Imogen, Maddie, Imogen, Maya and Chloe.

The conditions were dreadful for netball, meaning the ball was wet, the floor was slippery and everyones hands were freezing. However, the girls bravely soldiered on and worked really hard.

During the first quarter Baldock were struggling to get the ball into attack due to some great defence from Royston. It really showed that the Baldock girls don't regularly play in a team together, but they worked so hard to try and get free.

In the second quarter, Baldock made some changes which proved to work in the defence, with loads of interceptions being made in the circle, which was stopping the Royston team from shooting.

In the third quarter Baldock changed the attack slightly, which made a massive difference and the whole team played some fantastic netball. Everyone was dodging and making some great passes into the circle. but unfortunately luck was against us and the shots weren't going in.

The final quarter saw Baldock struggle with their cold hands and the wet ball, but they fought really hard to fight against the strong Royston team. The final score was 9-0 to Royston.

Well played to all the Baldock girls, the weather was horrible and they fought really hard against a team that regularly play in a league together.
