Match Report - 04 Oct 2010, Baldock Crusaders Netball Club Baldock Crusaders Blaze beat Beechwood
Great game played by the girls last night.
Unfortunately due to a few unforeseen circumstances (Becky running late, Caroline needing a lift from the train station and a car of four getting lost!) the game had to be delayed by 5 minutes which meant no warm up time for the team.
Thank goodness the rain had ceased but the courts were very slippery. The girls just didn’t have their heads and played like they were a bit lost in the first quarter which saw them going down by about 6 goals.
However, a rousing team talk (what the hell are you lot doing?!!) by team manger Julia, saw a huge improvement in the next quarter. Becky made some fantastic interceptions whilst George (playing up and really well) hassled her player really well.
Baldock Reds were now two behind and some great shooting by Jenna and Lesa saw us go in to the half time break one up - a great come back!
The next half saw Baldock Crusaders stretch away. Jess and Caroline’s job was made easy by some great space from Lesa meaning the balls were just flying in!
Becky and Jane had worked hard trying to keep out the other teams spritely GA. By the last quarter they found it hard to get any shots in at all. Well done girls!!
The girl of the match goes to Lesa who achieved 100% shooting in the last quarter. She really was on fire and it was great to see one of our favourite players fulfilling her potential
