Match Report - 03 Nov 2010, Baldock Crusaders Netball Club Baldock Crusaders Blaze beat Ampthill Black
The girls played a great match last night, especially as the team dwindles with Julia still recovering from injury and Caroline’s recent pregnancy.
The players last night were also suffering from niggles, Kelly’s burst blister, Nats bad foot, Lesa’s knee and Jenna’s sickness!! We’re in the wars! This was not helped by some rather ‘competitive’ play from Ampthill Blacks.
The first quarter was evenly matched as the Crusaders struggled with their good C GA combination, however Jess Marley and Jane managed to figure things out quite quickly and took control of the circle. The quarter finished with only a few goals in it.
In the second quarter Nat and Kelly continued to make some fantastic interceptions. This meant lots of turn over ball and the goals started to pop in!
In the third quarter Lesa took charge of the circle and started to get some great space. The Baldock defence continued to dominate.
In the last quarter, Jess found some great space and started making fantastic direct runs. This enabled the court to open up and some great link in moves.
The girl of the match has to go to Nat, who dominated the court and worked tirelessly to intercept and drive forward.
