Match Report - 07 Feb 2012, Baldock Crusaders Netball Club Baldock Crusaders Braves beat Shillington
Tues Feb 21st: Baldock Blues 5 – 3 Shillington (Cup game)
Team: Amy Witt, Chelsea Gardner, Jen Cross, Shelly Pye, Jess Bond, Claire Anderson.
A bit of a frustrating evening but a positive outcome in the end...
The Blues were hampered from the start missing a player that didn’t turn up. We decided it would be best to suss out the opposition and contain the game playing without a WA in the first quarter (and maintained this with Shelly switching WA for WD). We drew the first quarter and this told us that if we kept going we could still get a result from this. We proceeded to win the 2nd quarter which gave us confidence. Unfortunately Shillington won the 3rd quarter against the form of the 2 teams but Baldock ensured the win with a closely won 4th quarter.
We were up against it with some appalling umpiring decisions and being a player down, however, our determination and team spirit carried us through as well as a lot of hard work from everyone! Maybe 3 points lost, however, given the circumstances a very good result and another great team performance to be proud of!
