Cup game, match report by Jen Cross
Mon 30th April vs. Letchworth ladies – won 3 quarters, lost 1.
After over a month off netball we were all raring to get back to it and we knew Letchworth ladies always play well against us so it was going to be a tough game. We started well and were finding our feet again but there wasn’t much between the 2 sides and we won the 1st quarter by 1 goal and they won the second by the same margin.
The 3rd quarter is where we decided to go all out and really take this game as we could tell that they were tiring and we were improving. Jess F and Jess C worked tirelessly in the defending D and put increasing pressure on their shooters and gained some important rebounds and interceptions.
Jess B was doing some great work against their WA and helping to move the ball out of their goal third and up to myself and Sydney who were working hard to supply Chelsea and Amy with plenty of shooting opportunities.
We comfortably took the 3rd quarter and despite it getting a bit scrappy in the 4th continued to dominate with an overall convincing win.
A special thank you to Sydney for answering our distress call at the last minute and playing an extremely good game! J
